When No One Sees….

I asked myself this question today out of a troubled place inside,
"Why does no one see my pain?”
In response to this question I’ve carried far too long,
I always sought to hide.
I hid the question and I hid myself,  for in my mind,
Who has the answer?

And then it came today.

Oh the pain that’s felt in the midst of transgression.
When my hurts go unnoticed… when I apply wrong to wrong with my attitude.
When wrongs are impressed upon me and offense knows my name.
Who sees…..?
Who sees the lost smile, the lost hope and the lost time…?
Who sees the anguish, the fear and the degradation…?
Who sees the tears, the heartache and the loneliness…?
Who sees the hunger for truth, for justice, for freedom…?

Isolated, isolated from self, from friends, from expectation, from dreams and from prayers.
I’ll tell you who…

God…God sees our pain. Only God knows the deep hurts that afflict us. Those hurts that rob us of time and space…of faith and grace.  God knows the emptiness inside, the desire to do right in the midst of so much wrong.  God knows that we are but dust and hides us under the shadow of His wings.  Why else are we still here to feel, to accept, and to heal?

God saw you in your Mother’s womb and He sees you now.   How He longs to hold you close, to suture your wounds!  How He longs to minimize the pain and erase the fears!  How He longs to know you better when you know yourself.   Forget the past, forget the pain, forget the hurts and let Him wash them away. Remember them no more for His Spirit longs to intercede and to propel you in grace. Oh, how He wants to see the beauty of your face!

I believe when we only see our pain as I have for most of my life, we trample God’s grace.

We elevate ourselves above all God created and seek refuge for our aching soul, when thousands ache just the same.

And God says,

How are they to know my name?   How are they to know freedom from pain? Resist the need to justify your pain, for your tears I have stored them for my Glory. They are stored for your story…

We think so much of ourselves we forget others.  It’s pride sure and true.   Let us come away from the past, from the pain and from the hurts as God seeks to create a new tapestry in our hearts and minds.

Release yourself from the bondage of pain in Jesus' name
And there He will meet you and wash every stain….

Signed, Forgiven.
